0/5: Setting up the admin user

Setting up the administrator user

The setup user interface asks you to set the administrator user password only once, for a new Web Radio Control installation.

Web Radio Control has a separate administrator user role for configuring and administering the software. This includes operations, such as creation of new user accounts for other operators. In case of a new Web Radio Control installation, the only user accounts that exists is the admin administrator user. Administrator users can create other administrator user accounts with the ADMIN_USER role.

For a new Web Radio Control installation, the first step of the configuration process is to set the password for the initial administrator user account called admin. This also means that you will have to use the admin user account to log in to a new Web Radio Control installation. You can later optionally create other user accounts too.

If you wish to directly use the Linux operating system installed on the Raspberry Pi, you can log in to the operating system using user name wrchost and use the Web Radio Control admin user account password as the password of the Linux user. Web Radio Control automatically uses the admin user account password as the wrchost Linux user password. You can also use the wrchost Linux user account with the Web Radio Control admin user password to log in to the Raspberry Pi via an SSH network connection.

Setting the administrator user password

Type a new administrator user password in the two text fields dedicated for the password and click the Update button. The password length must be between 12 and 32 characters and the password must include at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, 1 number and 1 special characters.

Click the Next button to continue to the next step in the Web Radio Control configuration process.
